My Bio

My name is Stevie. I’m the mama of three and wife to my high school sweetheart, Sam. I began this ministry out of a place of pain and suffering, after losing my third child, a baby girl named Allie Grace. In that season of grieving and healing, the Lord softened my heart and guided my life in a completely different direction. It started with adoption and has segued into ministry, into this ministry known as A Story for His Glory Ministries

I’m so happy that you’re here. I can’t wait to share my story, Allie’s story, Ella Joy’s story (the bundle of joy that we adopted), and the story of this ministry. God has done GREAT things.

Until then, here’s a little bit about me.cherry blossoms transparent

*I asked Jesus to come live in my heart at the age of 7. (Romans 10:9-13)

*I want to be more like my Lord. I strive daily to draw closer to Him. I want to look like and act like Him. (I fall short and land on my face most days!) (Colossians 1:27 Christ in you, the hope of glory)

*I have been married to my high school sweetheart Sam for fourteen years. We have been together for 20 years, nearly half our lives!

*I’m a MRS. to a MR. who has MS!

*We have two sons on this earth. Their names are Tucker (9) and Coren (8) Ella Joy (4). We have three babies who went to be with the Lord early in pregnancy by miscarriage. Our precious Allie Grace was delivered into the arms of Jesus on December 1, 2013. (Yep, that’s a total of 6 babies!)

*This blog was inspired by the loss of our sweet Allie Grace AND our hearts being led towards adoption.  Anything I write that is good was inspired by her.

*Ella Joy was born on June 17th, 2015. Our prayers have been answered and our hearts rejoice in the God of our salvation. We praise the GIVER not the gift!

*I was a kindergarten teacher before having Tucker. I now am a homemaker! (Thanks to my hard-working husband and his convictions. We prayed for these children and believe that no one else should raise them but us.) (I sure do love that man! Can you tell?)

*I love to use !!! and … when I type. I am also the grammatical errors queen. If you’re a grammar nazi, you should stop reading my blog asap! 🙂

f7b08aa5-4ef4-42eb-9c6c-aa6834d12665*I believe in taking too many pictures!

* I would rather eat a handful of cow manure than see a snake or ride a roller coaster. (I hate both things passionately!)

* I love reading, spending quality time with my babies, going on dates with Sam! I love giraffes & butterflies. I can find four leaf clovers like it’s my job! I love writing down my blessings daily.(Inspired by the book One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp.) I love blue robin eggs, rose bushes, Gerber daisies, pink balloons and painted nails!

I hope you’ll find this blog to be breathtaking, heartbreaking, encouraging, enlightening, inspirational, and hilarious. This is OUR story for HIS glory!

  2. I work with Brenda and knew a little of your story but was blessed by your God given strength as I read through your blog. You and your family will be added to my prayer list. Praying for you to find the child God has already chosen for you.

  3. I’ve laughed and cried reading your story. It bears similarities to mine in the most unfortunate of ways, with the exception that we too are waiting on our next little bundle of joy through adoption! {<- I love those "!!!" too HA} I see that your Ella Joy finally made it to your arms and am so happy for you and all your men. You guys will be such a blessing to Ella as much as she is to you. Congrats and continued blessings!
